SkyGarden Condominium Community Web Site Newsletter
Spring 2009
Hello [FIRSTNAME]
On this last day of Spring, I thought it is time that you know what changes took place to the SkyGarden Community web site during the spring of 2009.
First of all, Tom Austin from SkyGarden I volunteered to assist with writing articles, which I greatly appreciate and hope others will step forward as well. I am still looking for anyone with an eye to take pictures or someone who has older pictures pertaining to SkyGarden I and II. So if any of you have, or are able to take, pictures, please step forward. This web site is not meant to be a one person show! Our (MTCC 541) superintendent is taking nice pictures that we see in the elevators, so I approached the Management Office to see if he would be willing to share them on the web site. Hope that the Board of Directors will give their approval and our web site would soon be richer for it.
Recently, I have installed “SkyGarden Blog”, then anyone registered to the web site can utilize it, so please make use of it. Those who actually signed in, would have noticed a new menu inside the header part of the page. For those from SkyGarden II it will say MTCC 566 By-Laws, for those from SkyGarden I, it will be MTCC 541 By-Laws. As I do not have an access to the electronic version, I have scanned the pages that are available to me. Unfortunately, this is not good quality, but will have to do for the time being. MTCC 566 By-Laws are empty, but includes the part that is shared – Recreation Facilities. The extra menu on the left hand side “Condominium Members Only” has additional links, that are not available to those who just browse our site (your user details, list of other users, ability to submit a web link, and if you requested to become an author a link to submit an article). Another new item is “Forum Private Messages”. If you access SkyGarden Forum, you are able to send a private message to another member (registered users). Next time this user signs in, he will see that there is a message waiting for him/her.
I wrote a request to all SkyGarden Activities and Clubs leaders with a request for information to be put on the web site, so I hope they will be open to the idea. Since I only participate in Line Dancing and Water Aerobics, those are the only two that have some information currently available on the web site.
You will notice “Today's Weather” on the home page, a request from one registered user. Another request, I have recently received, was for “Marketplace”, so members could advertise items they wish to sell or give away. If I locate, a program that would seamlessly work with our web site, I will install it.
In closing, I wish you a wonderful summer and ask you to speak to you neighbours to get them interested in our small SkyGarden Community web site.
